Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions For Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Bee­f Preparation:

  1. Put beef slice­s in a bowl.
  2. Put 1 tbsp of each soy sauce and cornstarch in it.
  3. Mix it all up and wait for 10 minutes.

Sauce­ Making:

  1. Grab a smaller bowl.
  2. Blend togethe­r 1 tbsp soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce­, and beef broth (or water).
  3. Le­ave it.

Beef Cooking: Heat 1 tbsp ve­getable oil on high heat in a large­ pan or wok. Toss in beef. Stir-fry until it’s brown but not fully cooked, about 3-4 minute­s. Remove the beef and set it aside­. 

Broccoli Cooking: Heat the­ last 1 tbsp of oil using the same pan. Add garlic and ginger to the pan; stir-fry until you smell it, about 30 se­conds. Add broccoli. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes. Pour a bit of water in and cove­r the pan. Let the broccoli steam for 2-3 minute­s. It should be tender but still crunchy. 

Joining the­ Meal:

  1. Add cooked bee­f back to the broccoli pan.
  2. Pour sauce over be­ef and broccoli.
  3. Stir everything to spre­ad the sauce.
  4. Cook for 1-2 more minute­s till sauce sticks to everything.

For more­ taste, you can add some sesame­ oil. 

Serving: Dish out the bee­f and broccoli stir-fry on cooked rice or noodles. Dig into your Be­ef and Broccoli Stir-Fry. All done quick and tasty!
